Coronation Stakes

The Coronation Stakes is a Group 1 flat horse race in the United Kingdom for three-year-old thoroughbred fillies run over a distance of 1 mile at Ascot Racecourse during the Royal Ascot meeting in June.
The race was first run in 1840 to celebrate the coronation of Queen Victoria two years earlier.
It is the fillies' equivalent of the St. James's Palace Stakes and it attained Group 1 status in 1988.
