Corofin (Irish: Cora Finne) is a small village in the North of the County Clare in the Republic of Ireland. It is the birthplace of Irish painter Frederick William Burton.
The name Coradh Finne means "the Weir of Finn" and the history of the name traces back to the times of Fionn mac Cumhail.
There is also a Corofin in the County Galway which is noted for its football prowess. In 1998 the team won the All Ireland Gaelic Football championship for club teams.
