Cornerstone church

Cornerstone Church, is an independent evangelical church in Nottingham. It is one of the largest churches in Nottingham, alongside Trent Vineyard with some 600 people coming together to worship God each Sunday morning.

The Church was founded in 1825, as an overflow of the Stoney Street Baptist Church from Nottingham city centre.

Cornerstone Church meets at the Wollaton Park campus of the Nottingham Bluecoat School on Sutton Paseys Crescent in Wollaton, Nottingham.
The school is located near to the University Park and Jubilee campuses of the University of Nottingham and contributes to making Cornerstone a popular choice for students there.

There are two main services at Cornerstone on a Sunday: the morning service meets at 10:30 am; the evening service meets at 6:30pm.

The church is affiliated to the Evangelical Alliance and the Fellowship of Independent Evangelical Churches.
[edit] Staff, Pastors and Elders
As a large church in a busy city, Cornerstone has a number of different ministries and responsibilities including: outreach to the Persian community, youth work and working alongside the large student populations. To cope with this, Cornerstone has a large team:

The Senior Pastor is Peter Lewis, he has been the minister of Cornerstone since September 1969. Colin Webster is the assistant minister, whilst Pete Brown is the youth minister.

The Elders at Cornerstone are those who lead and guide the church. They are: Peter Lewis, Joff Gribbin, John Hopkin, John Leary, Richard Lewis, Pete Brown, Jack Simpson, Alan Bush, James Wakefield and Colin Webster.
