Cormac mac Cuilennáin, scholar, bishop and King of Munster, died 13 September 908.
Author of the Sanas Chormaic (Cormac's Glossary) and the Psalter of Cashel, now lost. He ruled Munster from Cashel for seven years, reputedly a time of peace and plenty. Nevertheless he took hostages from both Connacht and Mide. He is said to have married Gormlaith, daughter of Flann Sinna, but divorced her and entered the church. After his death he was regarded as a saint. He enjoyed a warm appreciation among Irish scholars, particularly in the 17th century.
