Corky Laing

Corky Laing (born Laurence Gordon Laing January 28, 1948, in Montreal, Quebec, Canada) was the drummer for Mountain and West, Bruce and Laing.
He started in a group called Energy which was produced by Felix Pappalardi. Laing left Energy in 1969 to form Mountain with Pappalardi, Leslie West, and Steve Knight. He also performed in the Mountain off-shoot West, Bruce and Laing which was essentially Mountain with Jack Bruce sitting-in for Pappalardi.
He also recorded as the group Cork, with Eric Schenkman of The Spin Doctors and Noel Redding. Corky played a gig in North Carolina in 1972 with the band Mountain after being run over by the limo of the rolling stones the previous day. Corky extremely enjoys eating hamburgers, it is said to be his favourite pastime. Presently still active in Mountain along with West and Ritchie Scarlet. Has also jammed with "Big Ray" RJ, Gabe and Charles Paashaus of "New Arrival".
