In Eric Rucker Eddison's high fantasy - The Worm Ouroboros - Corinius is one of the secondary characters. He is young man, a warrior leader of Witchland, full of life and ambition. He is an enemy of Demonland and of the heroes in the story. As a warrior of some skill he commands a little respect from the lords of Demonland, but he is not liked. According to Eddison's internal chronology he was born in the year 375.
Corinius is described as follows:
“ | Corinius went on the right, wearing a rich cloak of sky-blue tissue over his shining armour. Tall and soldier-like was Corinius, and young and goodly to look upon, with swaggering gait and insolent eye, thick-lipped withal and somewhat heavy of feature, and the sun shone brightly on his shaven jowl. Hated by Brandoch Daha for his despoilling of Daha's estate of Knothering. Hated also because of his attempted rape of his sister the Lady Mevrian.
Corinius leads part of the army of Witchland in the final battle before the walls of Carcë. He is defeated and injured. Later that day he is poisoned by the Duke Corsus but he himself manages to kill Corsus before he dies from the poison.
