Corehouse is a large house in its own grounds. It is located approximately 30 miles to the south east of Glasgow, Scotland. The estate is by the Corra Linn Falls of the Falls of Clyde and close to the World Heritage site of New Lanark. Corra Castle [a 15th century fortified farmhouse built by the Bannatyne family] lies between the falls and Corehouse. Part of the estate was given to form the Scottish Wildlife Trust's Corehouse Nature Reserve. The house was designed around 1820 by Sir Edward Blore for Lord Corehouse and is currently owned by the Cranstoun family. Parts of the house were open to the public during South Lanarksire Councils 2007 Doors Open Day.
