Coram Boy

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Coram Boy is a children's novel by Jamila Gavin. Published in 2000, it won Gavin a Whitbread Prize. It sheds light on a hidden part of the eighteenth century, child cruelty. A stage version of the book (adapted by Helen Edmundson) had its world premiere at the Royal National Theatre in London in November, 2005. After much critical acclaim and becoming a sell-out success, the stage version returned in late 2006 for a second run.
