Talk:Copycat

Is this article intended to be about mimicry in general or copycat suicides in particular? Either way, it doesn't seem appropriate for the journalism category. Maurreen 01:00, 4 Oct 2004 (UTC)
- I added the journalism category. I must admit that I had not really read the article properly. Yes, it is about both. It looks like it would be best to create a stub for copycat suicide and separate it from the issue of general mimicry. Once that is done I would argue that it is very appropiate for it to be in a media category. I did not look at all the media categories and picked journalism since journalists are the ones who write news articles for the media. Having just given a workshop for media journalists on the subject of copycat suicide it was uppermost in my mind. Now it is true that copycat suicides are triggered by factors other than media reports but media reports do play a very important role. By putting it in the journalism category I was hoping that journalists would come across it, read it and learn about the phenomenon. --CloudSurfer 02:53, 4 Oct 2004 (UTC)
