[edit] The Band
The band program began in the summer of 1994 under the tutelidge of Manuel Bueno (he served as band director from 1994-2000). Within the band program there were several ensembles: Concert Band, Symphonic Band, Jazz Band, Marching Band, Color Guard, Pep Band, and Percussion Ensemble. Additionally there was the Band Council (a leadership group) and occasionally various smaller ensembles were formed (primarily for the purpose of Solo and Ensemble Festival).
Arguably the Copper Hills Band program reached the pinnacle of its success in 1998 when, while on tour in Las Vegas, NV, both the Symphonic Band and the Jazz Band took first place in a national competition (additionally, at that same festival the Copper Hills High School Band took first place overall).
