Copa América 1987

The Copa América 1987 was held in Argentina from June 27 to July 12, 1987.

All 10 CONMEBOL members participated in the tournament, with Copa América 1983 winners Uruguay receiving a bye into the semi-finals.

The teams were drawn into three groups, consisting of three teams each. Each team plays once against the other teams in their group. 2 points for a win, 1 point for a draw, 0 points for a loss. The winner of each group advances to the semi-finals.
