[edit] Articles For Deletion

Hi, one or both of the following situations applies to you, and you may therefore be interested in related discussions.

You may also be interested in a discussion of whether or not the entire text of a whole bible chapter should be contained in the 6 articles concerning those specific chapters, and whether or not they should only use the translations favoured by fundamentalists. This is being discussed at Wikipedia:Centralized discussion/Whole bible chapter text.

[edit] Proof...

No problem! I have an interest in the article itself, but I have utterly lost hope of ever explaining it to the IP trolls. Frankly I think you're wasting your time, and eventually you too will give up in despair, as have so many before you.

Gosh, that sounded dark, huh? Well, anyway, happy editing! Melchoir 08:26, 9 February 2006 (UTC)

Hi! I like your proof! It is a very elegant approach. Unfortunately, it has a hidden assumption, that I fear the anon(s?) will not accept: You use the fact that limits are unique to conclude that since \lim_{n\rightarrow\infty}{\sum_{i=1}^n\frac{9}{10^i}} = 0.999\ldots and \lim_{n\rightarrow\infty}{\sum_{i=1}^n\frac{9}{10^i}} = 1, then 0.999\ldots = 1. Anyway, I agree with Melchior that the anons probably are a lost cause - but that doesnt mean that we can't have fun finding new ways to prove obvious facts :-) Rasmus (talk) 14:56, 11 February 2006 (UTC)

Hello! what do you think of this? I put it in my user space, since I'm not sure about creating a subpage in the article. If you like this, we could post it to the Wikiproject Math and ask for the community's consensus. Jesushaces 05:48, 18 February 2006 (UTC)

Sorry, I forgot to ask you to please edit it. I'm thinking of asking the math comunity to go into the page and edit it, so as to come up with a reasonable version, think I should go ahead? (Or should I give you and Melchoir a little extra time? ;) Jesushaces 01:56, 19 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] template:user fsm

I'm calling out a posse, to fight for freedom of choice, to fight all those who think that only their opinion's right, template:user fsm was speedy deleted by an administrator without any cause or even discussion, I'm therefore putting it up for undeletion since people have put a jihad out against opinions in userboxes. As you were one of many people using the template, I'm trying to rally you into the posse. If you think the template should be returned to active status, put in a vote at Wikipedia:Deletion_review/Userbox_debates#template:user_fsm. Janizary 04:26, 22 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] New space

It's an interesting idea... I'm not optimistic, but I'm intrigued. Are you going to advertise it? Melchoir 06:33, 23 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Calculator deletion

Ahoy-hoy; the calculator spelling reshuffle is done. Thank you for your support on how to do it.

I also moved the long list of calculator words to a new page. This caught someone's eye, and they marked it for deletion. I'm writing this because, with your work on the theory on calculator spelling, I'd think you would disagree with that thought. I'd appreciate if you spent a minute to visit the talk page at list of calculator words and voice your opposition.

Thanks again for your good work, and feel free to contact me. Spamguy 16:30, 4 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Re: Animania

If members of Aurora Entertainment are editing the article on Animania, then it could run into problems with WP:AUTO.--TheFarix (Talk) 01:36, 15 March 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Discworld (world)

Hello. I've just completed a rounding up of all of the articles relating to Discworld (world); there was a great deal of scatter and I felt they worked better as parts of the whole. But I think, post-merge, that a lot of the material has indeed, as you said, been copied straight out of the Discworld Companion. Unfortunately I don't have a copy of the Companion to hand and I was wondering if you could point out exactly what needs to be changed. Thanks for your time. Serendipodous 16:14, 7 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Re: Ronnie Johns

The reason for removing the videos was that linking to YouTube is completely unencyclopedic. Not to mention the videos violate copyright, a clear no-no on Wikipedia. --TheEmulatorGuy 04:15, 7 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Odd numbers

Hey, just letting you know I'm reverting your addition to the list, not because it's not amusing/cute, but because the whole point of sticking that in my user space was to preserve the list as it is in the only form it can be found. No worries, mate? Confusing Manifestation 15:28, 11 August 2006 (UTC)

No problem. I appreciate what you're doing, even. It was that that when I came across the page, I just couldn't help myself. "We apologize for the inconvenience."  ;-) --DragonHawk 17:44, 11 August 2006 (UTC)
Sure thing. You know, I suspect "I just couldn't help myself" was the reason the list exists in the first place ;) Confusing Manifestation 04:09, 12 August 2006 (UTC)
I'm not sure what's funnier - the entry on WP:LAME, or the fact that the very first entry in said list doesn't actually meet the single criterion required :) 81.104.170.167 03:00, 19 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Thank you

Thank you for the information you provided in the answer of my question here. Can you give me more information?

[edit] Edit summaries

Hi there; yes, I had missed that. Do you do NP patrolling? If you do ,you will have seen how much harder it is now, with edit summaries of a length equating to the length of the article!--Anthony.bradbury 00:30, 25 November 2006 (UTC)
