User:Contrafool

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

My name is Erik and I'm a twenty year-old university student in my junior year who is majoring in English Literature with a minor in Political Science. My central areas of interest on Wikipedia are Catholicism, religion in general, mythology, Greek civilization, Medieval studies/literature, Irish studies/lit, Shakespeare, Chaucer, the Romantic Period, Pre-Raphaelies, Theatre, poetry of all kinds, and other old-fassion type things. I am currently working on an honors thesis that will seek to disprove the theory that Chaucer was an early Protestant thinker and as I do more research on the subject I plan to augment that section of the Chaucer article. I plan to spend my summer directing Shakespeare's The Tempest, interning for a newspaper, and working on my thesis. I have a strong devotion to Christ and the Roman Catholic Church and am seriously considering joining the priesthood. But should I decide that is not my true calling, I will likely go into journalism with the eventual goal of earning my PhD and becoming a professor of English.

Oh, and in case you are wondering about my strange user name, the explanation is simple. One of my favorite activities to do with my theatre friends is a wonderful thing called contra dancing. And anyone who has observed me attempting to keep up with the caller will agree that I appear quite the fool.
