Hegemonia of Sentient Worlds
Following the end of the Elder War, most specifically the Arachanid Conflict, the military alliance of the Commonwealth began to wane. Interest and cooperation among the member races began to dissolve and eventually as open warfare exploded between the Hiiran Diamad and the Todian Coalition the union of worlds desolved. In its wake the known galaxy soon suffered as civilized space began to contract inward and goverments formerly allied to one another now entered isolation or war with one another.
The Commonwealth offically and politically ended on January 24th, 2684 when delegations from all ten member governments signed the Treaty of Polarus XI, the document that announced all ties and departments of the Commonwealth would be torn down and the territories divided among the member nations. This would also follow with what many call the Time of Silence, a period of time where little communication outside of the economic alliance of the Solorian Federation and the Kintari Commune and the arm conflicted between several nations, most notabally the Kintari - Hiiran War, the Third Todian - Hiiran War and the Crowan Crusade againsts the Laangarens.
For the next two hundred years little in the way of diplomatic progress was brought about as individual empires bickered and fought one another, ensure that no real expansion occurred among themselves. However that changed when the Kintari Commune and Solorian Federation of Colonies announced the formation of a joint government, not based on military or economic reasons, but a unified empire.
The foundation for a new interstellar empire was begun with the signing of the Constitution of Sentient Rights on May 7th, 2935, when the Kintari leader, Empress Warro and Federation leaders, Presidents Nicole Manhastan and Yagi Kerri, signed the consitution in Central City, Earth and Mount Inveti, Karn Ria.
Called the Hegemonia of Sentient Worlds the empire brought many of the formerly independent worlds under its domain and now controlled only the finest colonies and resource ports in the Alpha Quadrant. In only three years the Hegemonia was the single most powerful empire ever, outdoing even the ancient Commonwealth and Manoon by its utter wealth and military power. Never had a power existed, both politically or militarily speaking.
