Talk:Convention for the Conservation of Antarctic Marine Living Resources
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
CCAMLR stands for Commission as well as for Convention. The Commission is an actual organization, the Convention is its charter. A case could be made that it's the Commission which ought to headline the page, rather than the Convention. Mporter 03:30, 20 November 2006 (UTC)
It has been suggested by Tawanese representatives who wish to join the Commission, that the Commission could rename itself as the "Conservation Association of Living Aquatic Marine Antarctic Resources, International." They extoll the virtues of the new acronym, and describe the potential logo as a "squid with huge, all-seeing eyes, and a sharp, hungry-looking beak. Some tentacles would reach deep into the sea, some would be shepherding sailors as well as crushing pirates on the surface. Some would reach onto land, and some would embrace the increasingly-important atmosphere." the representatives said. --Torchpratt 15:21, 26 January 2007 (UTC)
