Since it is on her collected works and not on her, either as a biography or her as an author, it should be allowed to remain as is. If it is merged however, it should be merged unaltered and in its entirity, as it contains alot of information not found elsewhere on this site.

That Was Then, This Is Now seems to take place over roughly a year, which is a bit disconcerting considering The Outsiders takes place over about a month. I would more properly date the book as being between 1968 and 1969, due to some of the chronological references in the book.
In addition, checking dates to get Tex's age means that Mark is probably not the father of Tex. He would have had to have been having sex with older women as far back as 1963, if "Tex" takes place in 1977. As Tex is fourteen years old, subtracting off puts his birth date as 1963, and we know Mark is fourteen or fifteen by 1968/9.
However, it *is* plausible that the father of Mark could well be the father of Tex, but without more back story this remains unverifiable.

I'm sorry, but you have completly misunderstood the article. Mark is not Texs' father and that claim was never made. Mark and Tex share the same father, the Golden-Eyed Cowboy (for clarification you can check the paragraph on him.) But thank you for placing your concerns here instead of making a careless edit on the main page. F-451 19:25, 27 November 2006 (UTC)
