Is it right to put in a link to (what seems to be) somebody trying to sell their services to people who need credit repair (or something similar)?

This web site isn't bad, but surely there's some non-profit whose page is just as informative. - Rootbeer 2002-04-04

Sorry about that but try as you might you will not find any such websites as is suggested. The simple reason is that you simply will not find anyone willing to spend more than 50 years of their lifetime gaining the knowledge and and experience necessary to teach what is taught on that website and then just give it away.

To do so would almost require an attorney who worked in the collections field all his life and then upon his retirement spend the rest of his life undoing what he had done all his working life.

Most state consumer agency pages will have useful information on how to access your credit information, and how to "repair" your credit through straightforward steps. Most folks with their financial information at hand can handle this themselves. Many of the government agencies can provide help and advice, forms and contacts. Only those with devastating credit problems should seek professional advice - most likely an attorney specializing in bankruptcy and credit "workouts".

I would question that Consumer Protection laws deal with bankruptcy - they are interlinked in terms of redress issues should a company fail, but bankruptcy is very much an area of company law and has little if anything in common with the standard provisions covered by consumer law policy areas worldwide.
