This article corresponds to the article concerning Joyce Hatto. Since the label also produced work for another artist (Fiorentino) and since it is now suspected that his work may also be misattributed, it seems logical to create and independent article concerning this. --Otheus 00:47, 21 February 2007 (UTC)

Is it "Concert Artists" or "Concert Artist"? I've seen two different articles published in the same paper each giving a different variant. I'm creating a redirect but it would be good to get something definitive.

I've also seen both, and someone correctly added "Fidelio Recordings", for which I added a redirect, and moved the article to "Concert Artist Records". Barrington-Coupe also redirects here, which seems like a good idea for the time being. --Otheus 18:13, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

BTW, I also dab'ed your link above, hope you don't mind. -- Antaeus Feldspar 18:30, 21 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Barrington-Coupe

While Barrington-Coupe may need an article for himself, at the present time, I would say that for all intents and purposes, Concert Artist Records is Barrington-Coupe, and would vote in favor of renaming / recasting the article rather than adding a separate one. --Otheus 18:13, 28 February 2007 (UTC)

As such, I've added the BLP tag here.
Though "for all intents and purposes, Concert Artist Records is Barrington-Coupe", the reverse does not apply, so I've now created a separate article on William Barrington-Coupe, drawing on a number of sources to make a reasonably substantial entry. The man clearly has form, as they say.
Since we've now separated the man and the company (at least here in WP), I've moved the BLP tag there.
Further editing of the WB-C article is welcomed, of course.

[edit] Dubious claim

Before being put back in, the following needs some references:

It was not the first time that doubts had been expressed over the authenticity of Concert Artist recordings, which also released recordings of the Chopin Mazurkas which, they claimed, had been recorded by Alfred Cortot. There is no evidence that these recordings were genuine.

Keep in mind that since the article is linked with Barrington-Coupe, any unsourced claim must be removed immediately.

The 'Cortot Edition' Mazurkas are visible on the Concert Artist website [1]. There is no evidence that Cortot ever recorded the Mazurkas, they were never issued on 78, and no other company has ever issued the recording. They are not included in the Farhan Malik Cortot Discography, which is regarded as one of the reputable sources for discographics[2] For these reasons, there is no evidence that they are genuine. However, unless the pianist can be identified, they cannot be definitively proven to be fakes. Rconroy 17:02, 10 March 2007 (UTC)

Right, but until someone else says so, we can't say one way or another here. --Otheus 14:21, 11 March 2007 (UTC)
