Stargate: Continuum is a planned direct-to-DVD movie which will be written by Brad Wright and directed by Martin Wood. Some scenes for this movie were already shot at the end of March 2007, but the original start date is set for May 22 at Vancouver's Bridge Studios. The movie will be released on DVD late in 2007, followed by possible broadcasts.[1]

Stargate: Continuum will be a time-travel adventure. It will be the second sequel to Stargate SG-1, after Stargate: The Ark of Truth.[2]

The movie will include scenes filmed at the US Navy's Applied Physics Laboratory Ice Station in the Arctic, 200 nautical miles north of Prudhoe Bay, Alaska. These scenes will feature Richard Dean Anderson, Amanda Tapping and Ben Browder. They were filmed between March 23 and March 29, 2007. The scenes will also feature the USS Alexandria (SSN-757). [3]

[edit] Plot

While SG-1 attends the execution of Ba'al, the last of the Goa'uld System Lords, Teal'c and Vala inexplicably disappear into thin air. Carter, Daniel and Mitchell race back to a world where history has been changed: the Stargate program has been erased from the timeline. As they try to convince the authorities what's happened, a fleet of Goa'uld motherships arrives in orbit, led by Ba'al, his queen, Qetesh (Vala), and his first prime, Teal'c. The remaining SG-1 members must find the Stargate and set things right before the world is enslaved by the Goa'uld.

Writer Brad Wright has stated that this movie will be a stand alone and it's hoped it will launch a continued series of movies based on the SG-1 TV series. Wright also stated fans can expect many guest stars including characters that have been killed off during the TV run.[7]
