Convergent
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
In mathematics, convergent describes an entity with a limit. This is a topological concept, and thus all forms of convergence are eventually related to topological filters. However, most uses of the term involve the specialized structures of sequences and series. In particular, convergent may refer to:
- Convergent sequence, a sequence which has a limit
- Convergent series is the sum of an infinite sequence, if the sequence of partial sums approaches a limit
- Convergent of a (possibly infinite) continued fraction
- Convergent net - a generalization of a convergent sequence
- Convergent filter - a generalization of a convergent net
