Contention ratio
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The 'contention ratio' is the ratio of the number of available connections and the maximum number of people that are interested in obtaining a connection (or pay for connection).
For example: if an ISP has 100 available modems, but sells an internet service to 10,000 people the 'contention ratio' is 1:100.
