The Contemporary Youth Orchestra is a youth orchestra based in Cleveland, Ohio, specializing in the performance of works written by composers who lived until at least 1901. It is the first youth orchestra dedicated solely to studying and performing contemporary orchestral works. The orchestra's founding music director is Liza Grossman.

By the end of the 2006-2007 season, the orchestra's 12th season, they will have performed 46 world premieres. The orchestra has been the recipient of the Northern Ohio Live Award of Achievement in the Classical Music/Opera category. They have performed with popular artists and bands including Ray Manzarek of The Doors, Graham Nash of Crosby, Stills & Nash (and Young), Jon Anderson of Yes, Pat Benatar and her husband Neil Giraldo, Styx and Mike Garson. Other well-known artists they have worked with outside of the rock genre include the Pacifica Quartet, Cleveland Orchestra members Jack Sutte, Steve Witser, Richard Waugh, Mark Jackobs, Richard Weiss, Richard King and Mary Kay Fink, and jazz trumpet player Joe Miller.
