Constitutional patriotism

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Constitutional patriotism is a concept associated with the German philosopher Jürgen Habermas. It is a key part of theories of post-nationalism, and has been influential in the development of the European Union.[1] According to the principle of constitutional patriotism, citizenship should rely on a shared sense of values rather than a common history or ethnic origin.
