Consolación del Sur

Consolación del Sur is a city in Cuba. It is also called the Athens of Vueltabajo. The name is also used for the Municipality of Consolación del Sur.

It is located in a major rice-growing area, tobacco is also cultivated as in much of the Pinar del Río province. There are 3 Churches in this city. One Roman Catholic Church (Dedicated to "La Candelaria") and two other Protestant churches. The city has two parks, the Catholic Church is near the Central Park.

Inhabitants of the area are called Consolareños.
