Conqueror's Quest

Conqueror's Quest is an online text based roleplaying game based on the Redwall series of books by Brian Jacques. These books revolve around animal characters set in a medieval world so it is no surprise the units in this game are both animals and medieval.

[edit] The Staff
The site was originally made by Pawflash of the much renowned Redwall site Pawflash's Redwall Abbey. In the time before his site closed he created the RCQ along with the primary scripter Shrub from Shrubtech. The forums are mainly moderated and the players helped by Dandin. The game is an extension of the Redwall Online Community, the (ROC). The term for the collection of Redwall sites on the internet.
[edit] The Players
The number of true players is hard to determine as not all post in the forums, and many are inactive or only periodically active. But a core of at least 40-50 players are continuing to play the game. Activity is often determined on whether or not some players are creating enough excitement. As of September 16, 2006 a new season of the Conqueror's Quest has begun.
[edit] Features
At first glance the game itself seems simple enough, you have different troops and buildings, and a few different kingdom types with different bonuses. There are technology points that most people invest in right away. However as the system is used there are more varied and complex ways to use these features than would appear at first.
There are two 'alignments' that players choose when they sign up. Vermin or Good Beast. In the spirit of Brian Jacques novels the Vermin represent the evil players while the Good Beasts represent the good guys. However in game evil is usually judge on how many people you regularly attack that are smaller than you.
There are also three kingdom types that players can choose from these are.
Fort +10% Attack Power +5% Defense Power One day less attack time. -10% Birth Rate -5% Food Production
Castle +5% Attack Power
+10% Defense Power
Abbey -20% Combat Losses +5% Food Production +10% Birth Rate -5% Attack Strength
The Fort is the best one to choose as its faster marching time gives players an undisputed advantage. This has been reported to the admins and they have fixed it in the future version.
Besides this each alignment has different units.
