Connor McCreaddie is an obese 8 year boy old who lives in Wallsend in northeastern England. Connor weighs 218 pounds (88.9 kilograms), three times the weight of a healthy child his age[1] and was threatened to be removed from his mother's (Nicola McKeown) custody. The parent and child had a meeting with the local council in North Tyneside, and it was determined he would remain at home.[2]
It has been reported that his rapid growth and weight gain has caused the child to break four beds and five bicycles.[3][4] His mother defended his eating habits, which consist mostly of junk food, due to a "family intolerance to fruit or vegetables."[5] The UK government has attempted to help by arranging visits to nutrtionists, school nurses, and social workers to address his diet, however all appointments have been missed.[3] This caused the government to intervene claiming the Connor family was abusing the boy.
