Connetquot River State Park Preserve

Connetquot River State Park Preserve is a conservation area in the Town of Islip in Suffolk County, New York in the USA. Visitors can enjoy activities that have low impact on conservation programs (no pets).
The park offers hiking, fishing, a bridle path, nature trails, cross-country skiing, snow shoeing, a museum, and recreation activities.

A permit is required for entrance to the park. The permit can be obtained free by writing to the Long Island State Parks in Babylon, NY. This park is a carry-in carry-out facility. There are no garbage bins along the trails. Additionally there are no picnic facilities or play areas for children. Fishing for brook, brown, and rainbow trout is top notch, with trout reaching up to 15 pounds possible!
