Route 140 is a state highway in Connecticut in the northeastern part of the Greater Hartford area. Route 140 is a main artery connecting the town of Ellington to Hartford.

Route 140 is a minor arterial road from Route 75 in Windsor Locks to Route 32 in Stafford Springs. Route 140 crosses the Connecticut River from Windsor Locks to East Windsor on what is one of only three street level bridges in the state. In East Windsor it has an interchange with Interstate 91.
