Connaught Hall, Southampton

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Connaught Hall is a hall of residence owned by the University of Southampton and situated in Southampton, UK. Originally a boarding school, it is now a listed building and part of the Wessex Lane Halls complex, clustered around the larger Montefiore halls development.

It arguably offers the most traditional University Halls experience in Southampton. One of the older halls in the University, its cosy architecture and quadrangle layout make for a more close-knit community than elsewhere, especially since the partial closure and cessation of catering at South Soneham House.

Facilities on offer within Connaught, in addition to those at Montefiore halls, include a large common room (larger than that at Glen Eyre, and the largest ratio of space to number of residents within the University), computer room, library, music room, snooker room, shop, restaurant, gym, tv room, bar, BBQ area and laundry.
