Connacht Senior Football Championship

The Connacht Senior Football Championship (known for sponsorship reasons as the Bank of Ireland Connacht Championship) is the premier "knockout" competition in the game of football played in the province of Connacht in Ireland. The series of games are organised by the Connacht Council and are played during the summer months. The Connacht football Final is played in July.
Mayo are the most successful, having won the championship on 41 occasions followed closely behind by Galway who have won on 39 occasions.
The Connacht Football Championship is run on a knock-out basis in which once a team loses they are eliminated from the competition. All of the counties of Connacht participate in the championship.
