In college, Findlay rowed for the University of Southern California[1].
Findlay won gold medals in rowing at the 1956 and the 1960 Summer Olympics, and took a bronze at the 1960 Games, all in the Pair with Coxswain event.
At the 1976 Summer Olympics Findlay teamed with Dennis Conner to win a Bronze medal in Sailing's Tempest class.
