Coniston (34°26′S, 150°53′E) is a Urban Locality of Wollongong in New South Wales. It has one public primary school and its main street is Gladstone Avenue which is the business center of this little suburb. It's clean and has lots of plant life, a good train station, it is close to Wollongong City and it is very close to the beach (although due to suburb agreements Wollongong City owns Coniston Beach). Coniston Beach has been voted the cleanest beach in the Illawarra many times and the suburb will continue to prosper for many years.

Also of importance, Coniston has one pub this been Gilmore's Hotel Coniston [1] which is a fine drinking establishment and old school pub. Coniston is also home to the Coniston Juniors Football Club who play at McKinnon Park.

Furthermore Coniston is undergoing a demographic change as the children of the babyboomers are moving out thus leaving empty nests. The original houses are being knocked down in favour of units as developers slowing encroach into the suburb.

One of Conistons streets Wonson Avenue has just recently won the 8th 'Rise and Shine' street of the week award. Conistons main arterial streets include Heaslip Street, Bridge Steet, Union Street and Gregory Street which gives a very fine view of Wollongong and the beach.

Coniston also has a large population of Australians of Macedonian background - approximately 6 percent of the total population.
