The Hmong are an ethnic minority group in Asia and abroad. Their origins are rooted back to many different regions of the world. Currently, they are being murdered and suppressed by the Laotian government. Even the World Trade Organization, the United States, and the entire international community have their hands dirtied in the situation. Not only are the Hmong being forced out of refugee camps on the Thai border where they already risk death by mysterious causes and into a special "zone" in Laos. Here in the "special zoning areas" they are often either bombed or sent to internment camps. One factor that makes the Hmong plight so dire is the lack of acknowledgement of the horrible atrocities going on in Thailand, Laos, and Vietnam. The US government has done a little to help by relocating a significant amount of refugees to the US over time, but more must be done to ensure the ethnic cleansing stops and that the Hmong are given the opportunity to live and feel safe on a daily basis.
