Concord, New South Wales

Concord is a suburb in the inner-west of Sydney, in the state of New South Wales, Australia. It is located 15 kms west of the Sydney central business district, in the local government area of the City of Canada Bay.

Concord is known as the "Park Suburb" of the inner west. Concord Council amalgamated with Drummoyne Council in 2000 to form the City of Canada Bay. It is also home to one of Sydney's major hospitals, Concord Repatriation General Hospital or Concord Hospital.

Concord features a small shopping strip in Majors Bay Road. Several cafes and restaurants featuring outside dining are located here. The restaurants include: wood fired pizzeria's, chinese restaurants, alfresco cafes and dining areas with a friendly attitude, take away restaurants, a all natural supermarkets and a Italian Delicatessen.

  • Australian series Grass Roots was set in the fictional suburb of Arcadia Waters. Many external shots were filmed around Concord, particularly in the shopping centre and cafes in Majors Bay Road.
  • The not long running Australian drama series Asom Sems One was shot in and around the area of Concord
