[edit] Statement

I'm Osbus, and I'd be a good councillor for a number of reasons.

  • A councillor's job is to represent the member's views, and my experience of being in student government (yeah, laugh all you want) has given me confidence that I can represent CJ members effectively.
  • I usually edit on talk pages, not articles, so communication is one of the things I became good at.
  • I contributed a lot to CJ since I became a member. I've also got a lot of ideas on how to improve CJ so other editors don't arch an eyebrow. I'd be good at building CJ's image/rep, etc.
  • I'm pretty good at templates, design, and such...this doesn't have much to do with CJ, but think of it as an added bonus.
  • I'm part of the AMA. I haven't handled any cases, but I have been approached for help and have read through many of the old cases. So, indirectly, I'm quite familiar with representing someone.
  • I can represent a mostly unrepresented portion of Wikipedia, although I can safely say that they are a significant portion- take that, middle-aged people(don't worry, I'm not some naive 12-yr-old).

I could make my statement nice and all, but this is an election for councillor, not competition for prettiest statement. Discuss, if you want, my candidacy (sp?) on this talk page.
Thanks, and even if I'm not elected that's cool...it's the cause of CJ I'm really supporting. :) --Osbus 21:25, 17 April 2006 (UTC)
