[edit] Years in ST lists
Please don't add them. I removed them (or never added them depending on the series) because they are in the headers. Doing so is redundant and just clutters things up. Cburnett 17:51, 14 Mar 2005 (UTC)
- Agreed. What is the purpose of simplifying the memoryalpha links? I've gone through the trouble of properly italicizing the titles. Commander 19:23, Mar 14, 2005 (UTC)

- Touche, feel free to revert. :) Cburnett 22:10, 14 Mar 2005 (UTC)
[edit] fixing vandalism
Good work fixing Electron ionization from vandalism... Who vandalizes that type of page anyway? One of my favorite examples of the weirdness of people yet. Cheers, -SocratesJedi | Talk 00:31, 31 Mar 2005 (UTC)
- Heh, yes that was certainly a strange one. Thanks for the praise. Commander 03:53, Mar 31, 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Speedy deletion
8th element youth outreach: non-notability isn't grounds for speedy deletion, but for a VfD. I've removed the speedy template and added VfD one. Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 17:12, 9 Apr 2005 (UTC)
Unsuspecting People The same goes for this one — only this time you put the {{delete}} template on it after I'd put it up for VfD; please don't do that. Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 17:19, 9 Apr 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Ellis Island
Hi, I'm not sure why you reverted the anon additions to Ellis Island as "vandal[ism]". There were inspection symbols chalked on the clothing of sick or otherwise "defective" hopeful immigrants, and a number only got into the country by surrepticiously wiping these off. I can't vouch for this specific list of inspection symbols (I personally don't have detailed enough information on the topic), but the general phenomenon is definitely real. Unless you have some evidence to the contrary that it is vandalism or false information, I'm strongly inclined to restore it. Thanks.--Pharos 09:39, 16 Apr 2005 (UTC)
- My mistake. The combination of non-standard formatting, and absolutely no explanation of how the list relates to Ellis Island led me to believe on a quick glance that it was extraneous information inserted into the article. I am reverting and formatting now, however a paragraph will need to be written to explain the list. Commander 14:00, Apr 16, 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Copyright violations
You might note that copyright violations are not subject to speedy deletion. Instead, they the guidance at Wikipedia:Copyright problems--Henrygb 02:11, 20 Apr 2005 (UTC)
- In this case it was more vandalism (they had no hope of being articles), and all 10 were speedily deleted. Commander 05:27, Apr 20, 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Image:WesleyCrusher2366.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:WesleyCrusher2366.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the image description page and edit it to add
{{Replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template. - On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Bob 07:59, 11 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Speedy deletion of Opifex
A tag has been placed on Opifex, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet very basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}}
on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.
For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Smith Jones 17:08, 25 February 2007 (UTC)
