This shouldn't be in the category 'English laws' surely? It's a United Kingdom Statute that affects all of the United Kingdom. Either that, or it should also be added to the categories Welsh Laws, Scottish Laws, and Northern Irish Laws. 146.176.60.22 20:37, 3 April 2007 (UTC)Luke
Has anybody had a good look at the new electronic communications requirements? In Wikipedia terms I think the new eCommunications requirements are significant enough to warrant a inclusion.

s1144 Sending or supplying documents or information
(2) Documents or information to be sent or supplied by a company must be sent or supplied in accordance with the provisions of Schedule 5.
SCHEDULE 5 – PART 3 COMMUNICATIONS IN ELECTRONIC FORM Introduction 5 A document or information is validly sent or supplied by a company if it is sent in electronic form in accordance with this Part of this Schedule.
6 A document or information may only be sent or supplied by a company in electronic form— (a) to a person who has agreed (generally or specifically) that the document or information may be sent or supplied in that form (and has not revoked that agreement), or... ---
I myself am specifically looking into how a plc can start sending Annual Reports by e-mail or just publish them on the website instead of mailing hardcopies to all the members (a considerable saving on mailing costs!), but having had a quick nose around I see that eg. Norton Rose's and Trevor SMith's advice differ on the practicalities.

- I understand that the new regime will be substantially set out in new regulations to be introduced in 2007 replacing the Companies Act 1985 (Electronic Communications) Order 2000.
