This photograph illustrates the difference between voluntary and mandatory labelling of nutrition information on similarly sized packages of Chips Ahoy! chocolate chip cookies manufactured by Nabisco (part of Kraft Foods). The wrapped package on the left is targeted for the Mexican market, while the box on the right is for the American market.

Note how the American "Nutrition Facts" box is much larger and easier to read than its Mexican equivalent, while there is significant unused space on the wrapper for the Mexican package.

This photograph was taken by user Coolcaesar on November 2, 2005 at a supermarket in Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco, Mexico.
