Community Channel is a non-for-profit, free to air television channel in the UK launched in September 2000. Owned by the Media Trust, a registered charity, its remit is to give a voice to community groups, charities of all sizes and not-for-profit organisations through using news, current affairs, documentaries and lifestyle programming.

Its major funder is the Volunteering and Charitable Giving Unit of the Home Office.

The channel was the official broadcast partner for Year of the Volunteer 2005, which encouraged volunteering across the UK throughout the year.

Until 2004, Community Channel was available on freeview from 2:45AM to 5:45AM; after that point, its hours were changed in order to make the channel more available to freeview viewers.

Note, Community Channel is the formal title, though The is often added (similar to BBC / The BBC).
