Commitment Hour is a science fiction novel by James Alan Gardner, published in 1998. It is set in his "League of Peoples" universe. It centers on the village of Tober Cove, where every summer a plane comes to pick up all the children of the village and take them away. When it comes back all the boys have become girls, and the girls boys. At the age of twenty-one, the people of the village must "commit" to being male, female or both (a 'Neut'), forever. Commitment Hour follows the day leading up to the main character's hour of commitment.
