Commission on Accreditation and Rehabilitation Facilities

The Commission on Accreditation and Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF), is an international, non-profit organization founded in 1966 by Mary E. Switzer, then U.S. Social and Rehabilitation Services Commissioner. CARF's mission is to provide accreditation surveyors and standards for organizations in the human services field wordwide. Among the many areas of practice represented in the CARF standards is behavioral health, which includes psychosocial rehabilitation and assertive community treatment.
CARF International is based in Tucson, Arizona.
