[edit] Production
Franchise Pictures agreed to fully finance the project in early 2003. Zeta-Jones will be making her producing debut. She said of the film: "I grew up among rugby fanatics - the film is very close to my heart.[1] The film will be shot in Llanelli, Wales. Llanelli is also just 10 miles away from Swansea, which is where Zeta-Jones grew up. Filming was scheduled to begin shooting in March of 2005 but was shortly delayed, apparently reducing the shooting schedule to 42 days, but director Joel Zwick was confident the film would go on.[2] This movie was not made due to the increased cost that would have been incurred when the US dollar declined. It is currently shelved.
[edit] Plot
A down-and-out Welsh rugby team is hit further by bad luck when their coach dies. The coaching duties are left to his son, who finds this out through his father's will. He (Alan Cumming) has no experience with rugby, and has previously earnt his living as a cabaret performer, and now finds himself in charge of a rugby team. Catherine Zeta-Jones plays a hairdresser who falls in love with the coach's brother as well as helping the two to rekindle their relationship.
