Comedy Cuts is a comedy programme on the British TV channel ITV2, providing a unique opportunity for the best new comedy performers to present their talents. ITV2 take the very best rising stars from character and stand-up comedy and present the cream of their material to an audience hungry to discover the next big thing. The programme will search for the next Peter Kay, Ali G, Matt Lucas or David Walliams.

Comedy Cuts is the first programme to showcase brand new comedy talent. Featuring 40 dynamic performers demonstrating a mix of stand up and sketches, the series is shot entirely on location. Each act is taken out into the world and situated somewhere which echoes their individual style.

The performers have been hand-picked from a new wave of talent and to followers of the comedy circuit, they represent the very best. They are a fascinating and eclectic mix of comedians who, over the last few years, have been developing their material, fine tuning their acts, and taking comedy events, including the Edinburgh Festival, by storm. They are primed to burst onto the scene and start making a big noise! ITV2 also have access to the winners of the 2006 IF Comeddie Awards in Edinburgh – Phil Nichol and Josie Long.
