[edit] please put this back up

We are real people with a real podcast. This is no test. Just look us up on iTunes. I read over all the speedy deletion things, and I still don't know why you deleted us. Again, please put us back up.

Hi, Wikipedia has clear guidelines about notability which I'm afraid your article does not meet. Please remember that this is an encyclopedia. Please do not continue to recreate this article once it has been deleted. Doing so could be construed as vandalism and may lead to you being blocked from editing. Thanks, Gwernol 18:06, 12 May 2006 (UTC)

The following additional comment was copied from the ILunch talk page:

Hi, please understand that the reason your article was deleted is not because it was too short, but because the podcast you describe is not notable and the information in your article is unverifiable. These are important policies and guidelines that help us define what is included in Wikipedia. If you believe that the ILunch article can be improved and show both notability and verifiability, then feel free to leave a message on my talk page and I'll be happy to help you reinstate the article. Good luck, Gwernol 18:35, 12 May 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for taking the time to reply on my talk page. Verifiability means that there are third-party reliable sources that can be used to verify the information in the article. For example, if your podcast had been described in an article in a national newspaper, then a link to the newspaper article would be a good source for verification. Its important to emphasize that the source needs to be independent of you and your friends and reliable.

The other concern that you need to address is notability. Wikipedia doesn't include articles about everything that is true and verifiable. You should read WP:WEB which is the specific guideline for notability of web content (including podcasts). Specifically you'll need to meet at least one of the following criteria:

1. ILunch has been the subject of multiple non-trivial published works whose source is independent of the site itself.

2. ILunch has won a well known and independent award, either from a publication or organisation.

3. ILunch is distributed via a site which is both well known and independent of the creators, either through an online newspaper or magazine, an online publisher, or an online broadcaster.

And of course, if you meet a criteria you'll need one or more verifiable sources to show it.

If you feel that ILunch meets one of the notability criteria and has reliable sources, please let me know and I will work with you to get the article undeleted. Best, Gwernol 19:00, 12 May 2006 (UTC)
