[edit] Whether or not to split the article
The article is currently exactly 100K.
I don't think a split is necessary as is; however, it might be contemplated in the future, if the article grows above 100K. Possible projects, if necessary:
- The most obvious split would entail moving most of the coal mining info from Overview of miners' disputes in Colorado to a new article, History of coal mining in Colorado. There is a need for such an article, and plenty of material.
- It might also be reasonable to move some of Labor's reaction to Pinkertonism to another, new article.
Most other parts of this article are important to the overall history, in my view. I think it is OK for the article to be comprehensive, but i'm also concerned that it not grow too much larger. If anyone feels the compulsion to add anything, please consider carefully whether it is needed, and the possibility that significant new contributions may force a split.
