Columbus Invitational Music Festival

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Columbus Invitational Music Festival is a school band, orchestra, and chorus festival founded by George Corradino and Oliver Boone in the Spring of 2006. The festival is held each year in Columbus, Georgia, a town located along side the Chattahoochee River and the Fort Benning military installation. The festival was established in part by the High School Band Directors National Association and the High School Band Directors Hall of Fame. The purpose of the festival is to give students and teachers an opportunity to perform for and listen to many other excellent school performing groups from across the United States. It also serves as a nice trip to the Fountain City, a major center of fine arts and culture in the Southeast United States.
