Columbia College is a community college located in the Yosemite Community College District in Sonora, California. Established in September 1968 as Columbia Junior College, the college dropped "Junior" in 1978. The architectural style of the college is that of California during the Gold Rush era.

At the center of the college is San Diego Reservoir, a man made lake home to a local duck population. Also on campus property are a series of nature paths as well as a par course.

Dr. Joan Smith is the current college president, serving since January of 2007.

The college is home to an active student body whose current president is Jayme Johnson.

The college offers an Academic Achievement Center as well as a Math Lab for those students who seek extra guidance outside of class time.

The various Hospitality Management programs are particularly well-known. Alongside the program's array of courses there is a student organized restaurant open to the public two nights a week. Serving meals at reasonable prices, the restaurant gives students a chance to gain valuable experience throughout all areas of running a professional, full-service restaurant.

The campus is well-known for its location and environment. Students will be in the company of wildlife, possibly viewing squirrels, foxes, deer, and many different kinds of birds. Trees shade the college grounds in summer, and catch snow during winter months. These surroundings are often the subject of college courses, where nature hikes develop students' knowledge and opinions on the environment.

Professor Ross A. Carkeet is retiring after almost forty years of teaching. He began teaching in 1968 when the college first opened. He has taught in the Natural Resources field.

Columbia College is an institution which is dedicated to delivering high-quality education to its students. Instructor evaluations, in which professors are evaluated both by their peers and by their students, are conducted frequently.
