Colquitt is a city in Miller County, Georgia, United States. The population was 1,939 at the 2000 census. The city is the county seat of Miller County^GR6. Colquitt is the mayhaw capital of the world.

Colquitt is located at 31°10′23″N, 84°43′43″W (31.173090, -84.728512)^GR1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 21.4 km² (8.3 mi²). 21.4 km² (8.2 mi²) of it is land and 0.12% is water.

As of the census^GR2 of 2000, there were 1,939 people, 772 households, and 501 families residing in the city. The population density was 90.7/km² (235.0/mi²). There were 868 housing units at an average density of 40.6/km² (105.2/mi²). The racial makeup of the city was 55.65% White, 43.63% African American, 0.26% Native American, 0.05% Asian, 0.05% from other races, and 0.36% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.31% of the population.

There were 772 households out of which 28.5% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 37.4% were married couples living together, 22.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 35.0% were non-families. 32.0% of all households were made up of individuals and 18.5% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.34 and the average family size was 2.92.

In the city the population was spread out with 24.3% under the age of 18, 6.8% from 18 to 24, 23.6% from 25 to 44, 20.7% from 45 to 64, and 24.6% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 41 years. For every 100 females there were 78.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 69.8 males.

The median income for a household in the city was $24,792, and the median income for a family was $31,413. Males had a median income of $23,487 versus $19,676 for females. The per capita income for the city was $18,300. About 21.3% of families and 26.0% of the population were below the poverty line, including 36.0% of those under age 18 and 25.5% of those age 65 or over.
