Colorado Symphony Orchestra
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Colorado Symphony Orchestra (CSO) is the principal symphony orchestra in the Denver Metropolitan Area. The Colorado Symphony was founded in 1924 as the Denver Symphony Orchestra. The Denver Symphony, however, endured some financial difficulties in the late-1980s, and in 1989 it filed a petition in bankruptcy for reorganization. It subsequently merged with the then newly created Colorado Symphony Orchestra[1]. Marin Alsop had been its music director for much of the 1990s and 2000s. Currently, Jeffrey Kahane is the music director of the Colorado Symphony, which plays most of its concerts at Boettcher Concert Hall in Denver, Colorado.
The Moody Blues performed live with the Colorado Symphony Orchestra at Red Rocks Amplitheatere in 1992.
