Colorado Convention Center

The Colorado Convention Center is a multi-purpose convention center in downtown Denver, Colorado which recently underwent a major expansion. The expansion added 600,000 sq. feet of space and a 5,200 seat concert hall. The total area of the convention center is 1.2 million sq. feet. It is located between 14th Street and Speer Boulevard, and between Champa Street and Welton Street. Stout Street runs underneath the building, as does the Regional Transportation District Light rail's Central Corridor, on which currently runs the D Line. There is a stop on the D Line, Convention Center/Performing Arts, underneath the Convention Center. The CCC is across Champa Street from the Denver Performing Arts Complex, to which it is linked by a pedestrian bridge. It is across Welton Street from the historic Denver Athletic Club. The convention center is the site of the Colorado State Spelling Bee, as well as most high school graduation ceremonies of Denver Public Schools.
